2008 Election

I have decided that I am looking forward to the 2008 election. Not only because Bush will finally be out of office, but because the election will be one where there are some candidates to get excited about. First of all, it looks like Hillary is going to run for the democrats, and she'll probably be up against Barack Obama and some southern governors. Then for the republicans you'll have John McCain, who will almost certainly win the nomination, and maybe Guiliani, who will at least be a candidate that people consider.

That will set up a Hillary Clinton versus John McCain showdown that will be the complete opposite of the election in 2000 and 2004, where the question was "Which candidate do I dislike least?" Even if McCain wins, that wouldn't be so bad.

Weekend at home

I just got back to North Carolina after a relaxing weekend at home in DC with the family. My sister was in town with her new baby boy Trey, and I spent a good amount of time holding the baby and bonding with my new nephew. He watched some of the Pittsburgh Indy game on Sunday, although he slept through most of the first half.

Linda was in town, along with grandma, and we had a big dinner with the baby daddy's family. It went pretty smoothly, and it was good to meet them all for the first time. Hopefully I'll be seeing a bit more of them in the future.
